marijuana triggers the munchies because when high, our bodies assimilate nutrition at a much faster rate, causing us to digest faster, leaving our stomache contents empty more often than not.
eat a thanks giving dinner, take a toke, and go back for fifths.
and because we're digesting so fast, all those bulk causing agents are being eliminated as waste faster than they can make us fat.
PLUS there is an acid found in hemp seed that disolves cholesterol, not found in any other plant on earth, nor in meats of any assortment (unless they are seasoned with hemp!
).

hum partly true...i don't know about the metabolism but munchies is triggered because when you smoke (not necessarly when you're high) it reduces your sugar (glucose) percentage in your blood...That's why most (not all) of ppl munchies are for a sugar treat...
Not picking you out just wanted to complete your statement!!
here is one for you, to lower your sugar!! ---> :stoned:

THC is fat soluble, but that doesn't mean that it can make it harder to burn -or- get you high months after you've quit, like some government agencies claim.

Your body uses nutrients usually as fast as it can get them. Fat soluble nutrients (Vitamins A, D, E, K, and THC), are only stored in your fat cells if your body can't use it all. Our cannabinoid systems are very efficient at using up excess THC. Remember, your body controls what happens inside it. Just because something can stick to your fat cells doesn't mean your body will allow it. I think the only thing that comes close to your body storing THC in your fat cells is when you've been smoking so much over a very short period of time that your body has to save it for fear of you pissing it out. Then, you're pretty much high for a long time (perma-fried). Sort of like how your skin will turn orange if you have way to much Vitamin A in your body and it's being stored in your fat cells. That only happens if someone is eating nothing but massive amounts of carrots/other Vitamin A-rich foods.
Wow, what a long winded post this is.

I put on a little weight this fall/summer because of some hardcore munching, then realized what was happening and have cut down. It kind of sucks though, because now I rarely munch down and I would love to. I usually just eat a banana or some crackers.
