Attempting Hydro soon & need help.

    Hey everyone

I am new to the hydroponics growing area and I am intreeged to learn more as I start panning for my new grow come dec/jan.

I want to grow minimum 2 plants.
If I had a 5gal rubbermaid bucket and cut 2 holes in the lid and placed net pots in there, would that work?
Im not neccisarly sure what the water would be in there, would that be the res?

    Any help needed is truely!
Plus cost is limited , Im going to averaging 700$ CDN a paycheck very soon and need to keep some money for my new truck & skidoo

After doing some research, I have found the following that I am going to purchase upon pay check.

    System :
    http://cgi.ebay.ca/LARGE-6-PLANT-HYD...ayphotohosting

If I need a res tank, Ill probably be using a 5gal bucket and might upgrade as I need too.

    Hey Joel,

For $35, it looks super good. I was going to tell you to build it your self, but honestly, I think that it's a good deal for $35. Just be carefull you don't get screwed on the S&H.

Remember that to do hydro correctly, you should take into account that you need to buy:

    TDS/ppm/EC/pH/temp meters

The 5 gallon rez might work... but, I think that you should run it as it is, and if need be, then you intall the 5 gallon bucket.

    Good to see you're starting!!!

Joel, I buy from the same place. Nice peeps and they get it out to you in good time. They have a reg website. Go for the 6 plant drip system almost the same, under 60 bucks delivered. Landmsales.com. You can still put an air stone in to help I did. I just ordered 6 , 1/4 inch cut offs so I can hook up a hose to the fitting on the end and let the pump empty the system for me. A little easier to change water.

Man, after going thru all the start-up costs and systems, I can tell you that you can grow in the cheapest set-up as well as a monster system! If you are going 1-2 plants, then without a doubt you can build 2 bubblers for under 25 dollars...jmho.lw
and grow very well in these uunits

    Hey guys.

Turtle420 : Thanks for the reminder. After spending some time trying to find these items, I finally have.

pH EC TDS Meter (1) http://www.insidesun.com/index.php?a...=7&prevstart=0

If you know of any other cheaper pH EC TDS meters please do tell me because that is very expensive.

Locnar : Awesome man, I plan on growing 3 plants, how much do you think I could yield?

Latewood : I am intrested in hearing more upon your ideas or past threads , I plan on growing 3, can I do that with still a 25$ budget?

As for that thanks for all of your replies and I am hoping to see more

    Joel,

This is the one I've got J,
    Hanna Gro'Chek Continuous pH/TDS/EC/Temp @
    http://www.bghydro.com/BGH/itemdesc....OHACL2&eq=&Tp=

I still haven't used it, so I'm unsure of its performance. But I think it'll work out fine. $130

As to latewood's PVC skills... he can help you alot... but keep in mind that latewood has a psychic ability to cut, thread, join, seal and setup PVC systems with his mental powers... LOL! Have you seen his setup?! Boy... what would I give to clean my hands in his bathroom sink!

    Thanks turtle.

I saw one of latewoods previous threads a while back and it was amazing, I know hes a hydro master, as is zandor and many others on this site. I hope to learn from the best to produce hopefully minimum pound /plant.

if your looking for a pound a plant your going to need some awsome light. Maybe 2 1000 watt lights. I have had a 400 watt and got 4 oz's of northern lights with just nutes no additives. It's all about lights and reflection. I am learning, when you go inside you grow more small plants than one big tree. Your lights only light 1/3rd of the plants. that's the top canopy. I grew 3 foot plants but only got good bud off the tops. Same thing this grow but I switched to a 1000 watt for the last 2 weeks of flowering. The next grow will start flowering at 5 nodes, that's 5 sets of good leaves. About 6 to 8 inches. When you go into flowering the plants grow like mad and more than double in size. With the 1000 watt I hope to get 2 to 3 oz's a plant. with 6 plants that's 12 to 18 oz's I hope.
