Ever since I get really worked up when I hear people talking about how execs with cushy jobs don't deserve the money they get. Like I already mentioned, I have seen the toll, both physical and mental, my father's job has taken on him. I can't say this about all top execs but the ones who I've met really do work their asses off. Maybe it's with their mind and not a hammer but it is still hard, hard work.

The bottom line is that those people who can get ahead and make this type of money do it because they have some type of ability that others don't. I don't have it, I know I'll never make it out of middle management, but I can't fault those that do for my shortcomings. The other thing to keep in mind is that the abilities of those top execs really do help to create the jobs of all of those working under them. They are the ones steering the ship, make the right turn and evryone gets a raise. Make the wrong turn the ship runs aground and everyone is out of a job. We all hear those stories about how so and so laid off a thousand people and then collected a huge bonus but that's few and far between. And don't think that the execs are immune from lay offs either. Even as a VP of Sales my Father was laid off from one company due to downsizing.

Anyhow, sorry again for going overboard. Just remember that its not all peaches and cream at the top.
interesting...
