Oh, so the Jews should be in the same catagory as the whites where anything goes, but better watch the tongue concerning blacks and latinos.

    very interesting.........

'fraid not, psycho. I wont lie, ive got no love for the jews, especially israelis

    interesting...

it's true. but not particularly racist. i also dont have love for the chinese as well.

it's not due to hate, it's because i wont shed any tears when they cling to their ways in order to preserve it but in a multicultural society, it causes rifts.

just as blue said, silent racism is alot worse than racism.

i got fired from my job by my boss who happened to be jewish because he said i had no work ethic.

considering that i usually worked overtime with no extra pay, i find that hard to believe.

a jewish person was later hired in my place.

at my university, the chinese students form all kinds of clubs but anyone who isnt chinese is strongly discouraged, even intimidated into not trying to join.

you may kindly ask me to explain my words before you carry on a rumour mill with another poster.

I'm a white collar worker but would hardly consider myself a corporate exec. My father, on the other hand, is a Vice President at a large company in the Semiconductor Industry. Definitely a corporate exec.

For the better part of my childhood my father was away on business. First throughout the U.S. and then the rest of the world. Now my father is 59 years old. A typical day for him involves leaving the house around 6:00, getting home around 8:00, then getting back on the phone to colleages in Asia until about 10:00. If he's lucky he can leave his desk for a least one meal a day. Weekends are typically spent working as well. Overall I'd say he puts in about 90 hrs a week. He has travelled to Asia four times in the last three months. I'm 35 and one of those trips beats the shit out of me. I can't imagine getting home from one and having to get back on the plane a week later.

Then there's the mental stress. He has about 250 people who report directly to him and his decisions effect not only his job but their jobs as well. Thta's not mentioning the poeple who don't report directly to him or the thousands of people who have many $ invested in the company. He has had to fire good friends and expectant fathers. This all takes a very heavy mental toll on him. I have seen him on the weekend looking ragged and my mother tells me its because he hasn't slept all week because Friday he had to lay so and so off. I have also seen my father in the ICU after a triple bypass which he needed despite the fact that he eats very healthy and is in generally good physical shape. The docs said it was most likeley stress that led to it.

So yeah, my father is a corporate exec who earns a shitload of money. But he earns every god damn penny of it. Anyone who thinks otherwise can fuck off.

    interesting...

so can you please explain further why your father deserves more than say....five million a year?

he works hard, yes we know. but from behind a desk.

in fact, that isnt even really important.

how can anybody justify making so much money and cutting thousands of jobs as a result?

his huge salary is almost entirely indebted to the hard work of thousands "below" him.

Fuck you Nich! First of all, my father makes no where near $5million a year, maybe $750K on a really good year but that's it. And he wasn't born rich, his parents were poor Hungarian immigrants. He worked his ass off to get to where he is now. So what if it's behind a desk, does that make it any easier? I worked my way through college doing various manual labor jobs and I can tell you from experience, even though I work behind a desk now, its a hell of a lot harder. The reason people can become top execs and make a ton of money is because they have talent. You obviously don't have that type of talent. Boo fucking hoo for you. It ain't my problem or my fathers!

Sorry that I freaked out a bit Nich. This has been a touchy issue with me for a while now. I had an old girlfriend who's father was a real loser and who had a shitty life solely due to his own actions. This guy, despite the fact that he never actually met my father, could never resist making a crack about my "fat cat, big shot" father and how he didn't have a "real job". It eventually got to a point where I couldn't take it any more and gave the guy a verbal lashing that pretty much resulted in my girlfriend and me breaking up.

Ever since I get really worked up when I hear people talking about how execs with cushy jobs don't deserve the money they get. Like I already mentioned, I have seen the toll, both physical and mental, my father's job has taken on him. I can't say this about all top execs but the ones who I've met really do work their asses off. Maybe it's with their mind and not a hammer but it is still hard, hard work.

The bottom line is that those people who can get ahead and make this type of money do it because they have some type of ability that others don't. I don't have it, I know I'll never make it out of middle management, but I can't fault those that do for my shortcomings. The other thing to keep in mind is that the abilities of those top execs really do help to create the jobs of all of those working under them. They are the ones steering the ship, make the right turn and evryone gets a raise. Make the wrong turn the ship runs aground and everyone is out of a job. We all hear those stories about how so and so laid off a thousand people and then collected a huge bonus but that's few and far between. And don't think that the execs are immune from lay offs either. Even as a VP of Sales my Father was laid off from one company due to downsizing.

Anyhow, sorry again for going overboard. Just remember that its not all peaches and cream at the top.
