well that depends on what you call "typical". it's definately not the dimmu-borgir/cradle of filth type singing, if that's what you mean. their older stuff is rather different from their newer stuff, the new stuff has a much more epic and solid sound, though without a doubt still death metal. they're swedish, and mainly sing about Viking's and the mythology following it. I'd definately say though, if you're going to check them out check out their album "Vs. the world", it's god damn brilliant. my favorite songs off it are "death in fire", "Across the rainbow bridge", "thousand years of oppression", and "and soon the world will cease to be".
mrdevious Reviewed by mrdevious on . Album Hall of Fame & Why? I nominate Guns and Roses' Appetite For Destruction. Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City, Mr Brownstone, etc...The hottest album around when it hit, LA scene in the 80's, this is the album. A talented group with "attitude" bleeding from every vain and plenty of contraversy. I was lucky enough to be in LA at the time. I saw an Aerosmith show where during the last song, Axl, Slash and Duff came out and played Train Kept A Rollin. Nice!! Rating: 5
