cuz they want to keep themselves in control. all gov'ts are corrupt i.e. bribes, personal interests like religion, greed. also, the us gov't criminalized marijuana cuz the mexicans and afro americans used it, and the govt was racist. other countries followed suit to keep trade relations strong with the US.

I personaly don't believe we have a real purpose. We exist to live and we live to exist. I do not believe the ideas of there being a god. God, devil, heaven and hell, its all a way for us to cope with the sad truth of death, tat we have somewheer to go after we live. I would like to believe in god but I can't. The closest to believing in god that I am is that god created the universe and let us grow on our own. We eveolved from something so small, we are the achivment of billions of years. God never created us but he created that at which we grew. But thats as far as I believe in god...
