i too have trouble falling asleep - i used to try putting music on low - worked for a little bit - tv on low with the sleep timer on it works sometimes - when i try natural sleep i cant sleep - i think of everything and cant stop - smoking does help - but i dont want it to become a habit

I have a 23 minute mp3 of white noise and a thunderstorm. I burn a couple of tracks of it to a CD and listen to it. It puts me out. If anyone knows a place I can post it for free I'll be glad to.

Put a bit of catnip and lavender springs inside your pillow. The scents from those are natural sleep-aids.

Listen to Slipknot so loud that it bursts your ear drums thus causing you to lose a large amount of blood so you will collapse in a heap on the floor. Trouble with this plan is you may not wake up again.

I have exactly the same problem. My mum says its anxiety.
5 years ago I used to have a cigarette before going to sleep, and it worked for a while. Then I got hooked. Trust me, my pattern is really messed up, sometimes I'm up all night, or all day, sometimes both, completely unable to get to sleep.
For a while having a spliff worked well, but that guy's right. Once I started smoking it during the day as well it wouldn't help me sleep at night. At all.
