is there some way ( not saying that i want to do it or anything, but mabye in the future) to completely delete your account and all your posts so its like you were never on this site. in a few places ive accidentally posted stuff like my last name and pics of my room that if someone that i know stumbled across...well you get the idea. i dont want my account deleted but i might sometime in the near future so i can start over and be sure not to post things like that. thanks

    Howdy.
The unfortunate answer is no. Its a question that has come up a few times and generated much debate but the answer is always no.
To sum up the other threads, the reality of it is that even if it were all deleted from this site it will live on forever in archives. Every word you type is forever and is availlable to anyone.
    It is a 24/7 process.
Type your name in google and see what you get.
Its better to just learn from your mistakes and be more adept at self-censorship. You have to hold yourself accountable for what you say because itll never go away. Its like having a tape recorder during all of your phone conversations and p2p chats in 'real life', what you say is no longer just your property once you say it. There is no reasonable expectation of privacy in a public forum. Its public domain.
Dont get all paranoid or anything but dont waste time and energy wishing you could take it back. Just let it go and let it get buried in the mass of text without breathing new life into it.
    Know what I mean ?
If you do a search on these forums for previous similar threads you'll find lots more, and statements from some mods and ron about it.
The best practice is to imagine you are talking on the phone and its being tapped. Use discretion.
And when you post pics make sure tha background is clear of ID features.
Ive emailed a few ppl about what I found in the background of the pics they posted. You would be suprised what you can find out with a zoom and a search engine and a little know how.

Anyhow, I hope I answered your Q to your satisfaction.
    Happy posting mate.

    peace.

You can always petition for a pic to be deleted from this board. Its been done and can be done again from what ive read.
pop into chat and find a mod and plead your case and cross your fingers.
Be nice because its a favour youre asking for not a standard feature of the boards.
    good luck.

oh , if the pic is hosted somewhere else just delete it from the host site or rename it and the link will be dead. but if you uploaded it here that wont work.

Lets just get one thing straight, you do not have to plead with a MOD to get a post or a thread that you have put on the boards deleted, we are always more than happy to help with these types of things. Yes we can (if you choose) delete a user name, and this too is not a major to do, but as far as deleteing all a members threads or posts it is alot of time and work. Before submitting anything onto the boards think long and hard about it

hehe kiwi I knew you would be the one to come to his aide.
But we both know some others are shall we say, less forthcoming with this kind of help.
Ive read enough threads about it to know its been stated a few times that youre SOL if you dont like what you posted. ( you know, all the 5 min edit protests etc.)Thats why I said its a favour to ask not a 'right' to be demanded or such.

    cheers.

tokosan is right on ... delete doesn't mean gone.

Most all posts, including deleted, are archived indefinitely and all or some may be made publicly available at anytime to others.

The Marihemp Network message boards http://boards.marihemp.com/ have real-time public archives including deleted - while that's not planned here, one needs to be aware that archives exist and could be made public, at least on a limited basis, to others.

Finally, as another poster said, often the best thing to do about past posts that one would like to forget is to simply forget about them and move on; not bring attention to oneself by trying to get them deleted.
