12 Hour Race in Juarez
As reported on the Diario (Juarez newspaper) today. Not too sure on the date! Hopefully, it will be from Saturday to Sunday and not Sunday to Monday as the 29th is a Sunday.
On the 29th of November there will be a 12 hour race in Juarez. There will
be cash prizes totaling up to $1600 dollars.
The race starts at 8:00 pm and finishes at 8:00 am. The race course is the
same one that was used for the Municipal circuit race that was held before
the Chupacabras (just passing the Cristo Negro statute). The course is 12 kilometers and includes part of the
Chupacabras single track.
It will be open category and you can race as individual or as part of a
team. The teams will be a minimum of 2 or a maximum of 4 racers.
In the Finish line area there will be a camping zone for racers and their
crew. There will also be the usual setup with restrooms, first aid station,
and water and food station. Racers are still responsible for bringing there
own food and sports drink. This area will also have two generators one will
be used for lighting of the finish line area and the other one is for
charging batteries for the racers light systems.
The anticipated purse is about $1600 dollars but this will be increased if
there are more than 200 racers.
Entry fee will be 200 pesos (~$20 USD) for each racer in a team or 350 pesos
(~$35 USD) for individuals.
