I tend to try to relate human behavior to the rest of the natural world, figuring we all came from the same place. Most species just make ugly faces at each other, or butt heads, instead of killing each other, for the most part anyway. The only organized warfare I know of is in some ant species.

I also think that humans are still trying to figure out how to live with civilization - in other words, groups larger than tribes. I think we're still in the age of barbarism.
