Am I ready for the next step?

My plant is over 8 weeks old now and about 1.5 feet tall. I woke up this morning to find a big gap in where the leaves were before (like it sprouted super tall over night) What I am wondering (I am growing out doors) if I should start a 12/12 cycle now, and if I do can I do it by putting a black heafty bag over the plant? I don't have a cam so I can't take pics, any help would be nice as I want to stop smoking after I harvest this baby.

You can flower it using the black bag, but you must decided how big you want your plant to get. Sounds like if you flower it now, it may grow to about 3 feet.

Well I just took measurements, its 18 inches tall, several leafsets are have 7 leaves, and the rest have five. Leafsets are growing out of alot of the branches too so it has like 3 sets of leaves per branch, I think I've had it growing since mid-late may, but am moving in a few weeks/months so need to harvest already, I live in texas and I guess I will try beggining to bag it today, how long does it take after bagging to get to full budding?

Once flowering is started, on average with hybrids, it takes about 6-9 weeks until peak harvest. Plants put to flower will usually grow another 30-50% in height, so you can get an idea of the size you'll be looking at. Yeah if you are moving soon, I would definately start the 12/12 light cycle.
