man whats up? can we all get this meeting thing goin or what? How about a couple of clean (meaning none smoking outings) so everyone can feel each other out. I notice that alot of people are lookin for hookups and such, the bigger picture should be socializing with like minded people. Lets try to put dfw on the map like denver. and if this does work out its one more small step toward a great leap for total legalization. what do yall think? :thumbsup:

hmmm, it's thursday, what are the good drink specials in the dfw right now? it's only 3, so happy hour's coming up. Anyone want to get a beer? I've never been there but there's a place called the flying saucer that has 250 or something kinds of beer(100 on tap) off of alpha I think.

Im kinda a few hours away from DFW so going out on random nights isn't really that possible for me. A meet up on the weekends sometime would be cool

Flying Saucer... I know there's one in Addison on Beltline... great beer selection... they've got trivia on Tuesday nights...

I'm definately down for meeting up at a bar. Alcohol generally helps with gettin ta know ya type things. Anybody play shuffleboard? or darts?

I was hoping to get a discussion started about where people like to go (Favorite places to not smoke)... I mean, who knows, maybe we're already hanging out at the same places! Or, at the very least, find out where 'like minded people' hang out (stole that descriptor from vessman. Cheers!).

I think thursdays are texas hold 'em nights at Scooter's on trinity mills.

Ricks' bbq nearby has a good but pretty small bar. On the occasions I've gone in there it was mostly older folks(30 and up) but everyone is friendly and there's lots of open conversations to jump into or watch.

Shuck and jive off 75 at lovers is a good place with pretty good food too. I don't like the one in addison so much.

Anyone know the cheapest places for drinks? Or somewhere that's byob? I know there's a place in denton called the sidebar that has 10 cent cups of keg beer, I think it's called the sidebar or something, but i can't remember where it is. Anyway...

I'm probly gonna be at one or more of the above places tonight, I finally got two overdue paychecks so...you know...

Is that Rick's BBQ in Carrollton? I've been there a hundred times or more. You're right that they do have a very small bar area. The restaurant does seem to cater to people in their 40's and 50's, but there's nothing wrong with that!!! :thumbsup:

Have you guys ever been to Snuffer's in either Addison or Plano? The one in Addison is the older one, and I don't go there any longer since they opened the one in Plano. Pretty good burgers.......EXCELLENT scenery for the eyes. Even my old eyes can enjoy!! I'm not sure about how much the beers are there since I don't drink much anymore.

There's a place called the Across the Street Bar, right across the street from the Barley House. The Barley House is a very popular place. The Across the Street Bar has a "hippie dance" on Wednesday nights, I believe. Kind of a drum circle and goofy dancing. Those are fun places to hang out if you're in the younger crowd....20's and early 30's. I felt pretty old in the Barley House myself. Mostly a place for young studs to hunt the ever elusive prey.

Please post if you guys do end up making a connection. Maybe even us more "experienced" folks can tag along until our Geritol wears off.

It's pretty good. Not gonna win the world cookoff or anything, but decent. I prefer Red, Hot, & Blue myself. But Rick's is a decent alternative. Neither are as good as I make at home, nor as good as they make at North Main Barbecue in Euless. You GOTTA try that place sometime. Excellent ribs!!!! All you can eat, serve yourself.

North Main BBQ can't be beat, in my humble opinion. Plus it's just down the road about a mile from my place. Now that you got me thinking I'm going to have to make it by there today.
