Gosh I miss the old days when I could say I was a Republican.

We believed in small government that stayed out of the lives of people.

We believed in fiscal conservatism and forcing politicians to work within a balanced budget.

We believed that the primary role of the federal government was to protect the security and freedoms of citizens.

We believed in ethics, morals, and true American values, ESPECIALLY from our governmental leaders.

Gosh I wish we had ANY political parties who believed in those qualities these days. Our system of politics has turned into a sporting event. Us against them. Evil versus Good. To hell with what's best for the citizens as long as our side wins.

Manipulate the truth, tell half-truths and outright lies, assassinate the character of anyone who happens to disagree with us, distort reality to fit the storyline we want presented. Which political party am I referring to? Pick one. They all have turned into this monster. A major problem is that any politician who speaks the truth would be crucified in today's climate of hate mongering.
