basicly alot of peeps are telling me that the ron bennett on tw is not ron bennett.peeps are saying that the old owner(dex)is pretending to be you?

so,as security is an issue,could you please clarify that you(ron bennett) have bought tw so that we (peeps with personal info)can rellax abit. :smokin:

now what the hell is going on RON??? when you do a search for talkweed.com it takes you to cannabis.com...there you find that you can click a link(click for old boards) by the red writing.http://www.cannabis.com/talkweed/

now this dont take you to the "OLD"boards but to dex's new psp site.the same site that he spammed about!!

so what the hell is going on RON.why dont you speak up?

Dex killed the site quicker than I expected, and is why the old board redirect link goes to an error page; if you leave off the /forums part you'll get his psp site or whatever.

Anyways, I insisted on board / database backups, so I have most all the data, it's just not there anymore.

What a mess ... but I knew the deal was going to be dicey - I did my research, but still things got more hairy than I'd expected ... TalkWeed was going down either way (that was evident from various posts I saw in the Admin and Recycle Bin boards there) - the question really was the price at which folks would come out of the woodwork, and which one was going to acquire it ... I was hoping to keep those boards up for awhile, but that just wasn't going to be due to Dex pulling them down early

On a positive note, a new growing only board is under development and I'll likely utilize some of the design and content from TalkWeed.

how comes dex's psp site comes up on the error page from the "old boards link"?on the error page if you click on Open the 85.92.71.58 home page, and then look for links to the information you want. it takes you to his site?you dont have to leave off anything.just click the 85.92.71.58 on the error page if ya gets me?

has he still got control of the boards or somit?

and your right,tw has had a shaky past due to his spamming but with the help of cheapo and other mods the forum was back on its feet untill he started spamming again just a few days before you bought it.

basicly the little shit lost his job and sold up as he needed money for holidays.up to him i say but its the way hes gone about it is whats pissed people off,especially the use of members e-mail addy's to spam for his new site.

all i can say ron is theres no point having that link to the old boards...ya just sending already pisst off peeps with dex to the last place they want to be.

either way.you got a bum deal not unless it was just the domain you were after.a right mess indeed.

The "homepage" link you're seeing is a page generated by your web browser, presumably MSIE, that is set to display errors in a user-friendly way ... and thus is making the suggestion of trying the "homepage" ... if you look at the bottom of that page, you will see it says
HTTP 404 - File not found

Turn off friendly HTTP error messages in Advanced settings, and one sees a more detailed error message:

Not Found

The requested URL /forums/ was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

The domain was transferred along with the data - but not the hosting, etc. So the IP you posted is still under his control and thus is how he was able to change what appears there.

With that said, the board link will be removed from the TalkWeed redirect landing page shortly.
