Actually I think it is just the opposite. A turbo lighter can burn weed without a visible flame. Meaning, your weed is burning without direct heat. I think this is far safer than a direct flame which no doubt releases more carcinogens. Although there have been no studies that I am aware of, I have found the high from my turbo lighter a bit headier than usual, confirming my hypothesis.

Turbo lighters don't work like regular lighters. Depending on the strength of the torch you can hold it several inches above your bowl while still vaping/burning material.

I think it's cool how a turbo lighter can vape the material without burning it if you are careful. It's also much more precise. Anyway, I never plan on purchasing a normal lighter ever again. If you don't know what a turbo lighter is... They are the same size as normal lighters but the flame is like a miniature blowtorch instead of a candle-like flame. You can use them in full wind. I can actually take a hit from my bowl in my car with the window down while moving. Rating: 5

I think there's still heat, even though you can't see the flame. In fact, torch lighters are even hotter than regular ones. I've heard that this can actually destory the THC...
