Texas Voters Approve Ban on Gay Marriage
Who really benefits from this?
Huge insurance companies sure do. Now a gay couple cannot claim their partner as their "spouse", thus making them inelligible for family health insurance.
Do we straight people think we have this marriage thing all figured out? Does that explain the more than 50% divorce rate in America by straight people? I have to admit that I fell into that category myself. So did more than half the married people in America over the past 25 years. So we think WE know what's best in marriage?
Didn't you guys know that same-sex marriage was ALREADY illegal in Texas and that same-sex marriages were NOT given any legal status, even for people who move to Texas from other states where it is legal? Nothing changed at all, other than a grandstand play to appease the far right.
