This wasn't worth the paper it's written on. If something is already illegal, do you want to make it double top secret illegal now? A bit of overkill in my opinion.

    Onward!
    Howdy onward,

We already knew that it was illegal, this was about putting this as an amendment to the Texas Constitution,so that liberal,God-less activist judges, can't overturn the law already in place,by a stroke of their pen, against the will of the People.

18 other States have voted against gay marriage, what do you have to say to them ?

    Have a good one ...

    See that cannabis Torog?

Only liberal policies will get it legalized. You do like cannabis don't you??

Hypocrisy is the act of pretending to have beliefs, virtues and feelings that one does not truly possess. The word derives from the late Latin hypocrisis and Greek hupokrisis both meaning play-acting or pretence. The word is arguably derived from hypo- meaning small, + krinein meaning to decide/to dispute. A classic example of a hypocritical act is to denounce another for carrying out some action whilst carrying out the same action oneself.

It's not too late to save yourself from the monster you have become. Time is passing every day though..

    Howdy Euphoric,

Actually,I don't like cannabis--I love it ! I've been in love with 'Mary Jane',since before you were born.

I want to change conservative policy towards the war on drugs and marijuana,obviously-it's a failed conservative policy,I vote for Libertarian judges, when I can and this nation does not need to be solely liberal,in order for marijuana to be decrimed or legalized..following the liberal path, will ensure our fall from the Grace of God.

I realize that it's nearly incomprehensible for you to believe, but there are many tokers on the Right, who like me,are working to change certain failed policies of the Right.

    Have a good one ....

your fuckin stupid man, people should be able to be free to do the things they want, and if a person wants to marry another person of the same sex they should be able to, its not like its hurting anyone

Eventually when the old guard has died out hopefully the government (at the federal level) will realise it's immoral, unconstitutional, and (dare I say it?) unchristian to deny all people the same basic rights and freedoms.

Old habits die hard I guess. Who else are they going to kick around now that civil rights amendments have passed and they can't be overtly racist?

    sad

Yeah. Look at school-aged kids. It's way un-cool to be homophobic even in the toughest of crowds. It is only a matter of time.

    Howdy dopefiend,

Your wrong,it does cause harm to society in general, especially if aids cases rise exponentially,as well as STD's. Also,it destroys the meaning of marriage, which has always been defined as a union between a man and a woman. Homosexuality is counter to the laws of Nature,as well, and introduces confusion into the natural instincts to couple with the opposite sex for the purposes of procreation.

I don't think that we have to go into depth about how all of the world's religions are against homosexuality,in Saudi Arabia, for instance, the penalty can be death for being homosexual,I don't believe in that,I'm willing to concede civil unions for homosexuals, but I and millions of other Christians in this country, will go to the election booth and use our vote against destroying the institution of marriage,18 other States have already done so..with more to come..because this country is 86 % Christian,y'all seem to forget that.

Marriage is the building block of any society, without it,societies will crumble because there ain't a natural pyramid of reproduction and a clear establishment of the roles that men and women have. The work force will not be renewed without a steady stream of reproduction, sexual deviancy is more of an indulgence, than a neccesity.

I apologize if my words have offended anyone and if I'm being too cold in my analysis of the situation.

    Have a good one ...

First off, I'm amazed to see you referencing saudi arabia to support your argument. It's ok to war with the middle east for oil but as soon as some muslims stone a homosexual they seem to be on the right track? I feel like I've missed something.

But in regards to the above quote. Yep, you've got all us non-christians outnumbered. Confound it! The Christians can do whatever they want... Except that one of the roles of the government is to protect the minority from the majority. So no, if there was justice, the courts would recognise people instead of religions and would promptly throw the finger to the current christian lobbies.
Haven't hetero/white/christian marriages already destroyed the concept of marriage anyways? What are you holding onto?
