by goth i do not mean what is generally accepted as a generally depressed/disassociate teen. i'm talking about how everyone that wears black and doesn't have a bunch of friends, or cause trouble in class by being an idiot to make people laugh instead of learning, is automaticly a "reject" a "goth" and now i guess a "retard" as well. i was never a goth, tho i do prefer to wear black anything over colors (black appeals to me) and i was somewhat of an "outcast" as i didn't act like an idiot in class, or go and do stupid, idiotic things with the rest of people, and i was called a goth. i've seen it way too many times and i'm sick of the judging and the generalization. and it's ALWAYS the same people that makes these people's life hell (including mine) it's the people who pick on weaker people, or crack jokes on them all day long just to impress their "friends" they see something diffrent and they exploit it. in the begining i didn't care to have friends, so what happened? the "popular" people constantly gave me shit just to impress their friends, and there are plenty of others like me, who just would rather go to school get shit done and come home, but because we choose not to associate we catch shit. eventually it gets to the point where i'd just rather not talk to anyone, because anything i say is another reason to give me shit.

Yeah, people think they are on some kind of higher moral ground because they look/act just like everyone else, when in reality, they're the ones scrutinizing everyone's tiniest flaws (some of which aren't "flaws" at all). The world can do without a bunch of robots coming in and telling everyone that just because they dress or act a certain way they're inferior.

And I know that Goth used to have another meaning. Languages change and evolve. Words take on new meanings. English is no exception. How is that at all relevant in the first place? Smarty?

no actually i don't see your point, you just generalize what you think is a goth, or what (in your head) all goths do. goths don't have an "arrogance" to them, certain people who choose to fall into modern society's view of "goth" have an arrogance "look at me" about them. actually modern day society's view on goth is really nothing more than someone who isn't quite as social as everyone else and wears all black (of course that's only a sterotype, but that's the general consesus of goth made by people who know nothing about the subject and just hate what they don't understand. on a humerous side i'll quote someone

now of course the health part of it has nothing to do with the thread, but the other part does. we are all diffrent in our own ways, no two people are the same, and even if they do everything almost similiar they still aren't, and that's why you shouldn't generalize. most of the mexican's around here try to start shit with me and basicly every other white person they think they could whoop in a fight, that don't mean i see a mexican and think "he's a mexican he's just a trouble maker and will just try to start shit with me so why don't i just hit him in the back of the head with a lead pipe now and be done with it" and you know why? because it would be wrong, both the action of doing that would be wrong and thinking that would be wrong. in short, no matter how you look at it, generilization and sterotyping is wrong.
