I went to this thing called The Great Midwest Marijuana Harvest Fest in Madison Wisconsin one year. It was in the park across from the state capital building and ther was well over a thousand people hanging out and getting high. The cops didn't do shit. Just too many people to bust and since it was just happy, non-violent, stoners the cops concentrated on traffic control and left everone alone. The only police interaction I saw was when someone was going to go across the street with a lit joint and they made him put it out.

Sounds fun!
It would be harsh, but funny if as soon as the guy crossed the street the cops swarmed on him, but couldn't touch anyone on the stoner side

we have a hempfest evry year "the freedom rally" they hold it in boston on the second saterday of september. this year there was atleast 2,000 people there. unfortunatly the state police was weaving through the crowed busting smokers, but if your not DUMB you can out smart them. i chilled on the steps of this statue smoked some bubble hash and played bongos w/this guy who had a dijaro. so much fun, they had speakers and a few bands.

I've actually seen this type of thing at Grateful Dead concerts. Inside the show, and in the "Deadhead Village" in the parking lot, you'd have 10-20,000 people, 90% of which were smoking pot, eating shrooms or acid etc. The cops never ventured inside but I did see quite a few busts in the peripheral areas around the shows. I never quite saw the point of it. "Look Sarge, I busted the dealer, now the Dead show is safe for the rest of the fun loving kids" LOL
