I know all about HPS vs MH during veg. I know the advantage of having MH or CFLs during veg. Unlike some of you who have a lot of money, I am a college kid who barely had enough to drop on a 400W light. I did a lot of research and determined that the most crucial period to have optimal light is during flower, because that is when the buds are actually produced and the QUALITY of the weed is determined. That is why I have an HPS light. If i had another $250 dollars obviously I would have gotten an MH as well but that wasnt an option. So please dont lecture about how i "shouldnt" be using a HPS light. Yes it would be best if i had a different type, but i dont and so far it is working extremly well despite the "wrong spectrum".

That being said, my original question had nothing to do with my light. I was asking about discoloration of the first set of leaves, so I dont appreciate being mocked about what kind of light I am using, expecially because i have seen Jake's threads and he has the most pitiful grow i have ever seen. If this were Zandor or HD saying the same thing obviously thats a different story, but I dont like when completely unsuccesful growers tell others how they should be growing.

I dont want to bicker about stupid things like this, so can someone please just answer my original question... i dont want to hear about what kind of light i should be using because i am already well-informed of the advantages and disadvantages.

Thanks, JPG

Impressive secondary growth as well. Wish i could post a picture but no cam at the moment. Anyway, my question is whether it should be a concern that the first set of leaves (not the round ones, but the single leafed set) are turning yellow. The little round leaves have already shrivelled and died which I know is normal, but the same is occuring in the first set of true Rating: 5
