changing user name
Name changes create all sorts of problems - admittedly very minor ones these days, since the board software has greatly improved. The main reason for the no name change policy is that it breaks consistancy, and can lead to confusion for both mods and visitors alike.
With that said, limited name changes may be permitted on one of the new sites we are developing.
On an aside ...
Kiwi- I don't understand it either ... I've been using the same user name for 8 years on the Marihemp boards, and nearly 2 years here - since the beginning of these boards.
Come to think of it, perhaps part of the name change mentality for some folks is related to email ... many people change emails with the seasons - likely due in large part to spam or whatnot; changing email is so easy compared to changing a real name, physical address, etc - many people just assume they can change things anytime, but rarely consider all the consequences of doing so; don't care. Guess I'm showing my age LOL! ... my primary personal email has been the same for about 7 years, and I have an older, less used one, that dates back nearly 10 years.

just forget about it i'll stick with this one
On the waydown they saw a lot they don\'t remember
and if you asked them how, they couldn\'t say how they got there
and if you want them now you could just pull on the lever
and say, \"I\'m hung up on gravity.\"
you move your mouth and you start to talk
you close your eyes and then lose the thought
what\'s mine is mine and what\'s yours you probably got
and we all fall.

I like having old names. I have had the same email all my life. it is easier for people to stay in touch with you, I think. also I like to keep them on message boards because, (even though it shouldnt be this way) people (usually) seem to respect you more if you have been on the boards longer.

Ahh, I'd like to change my name too... Joined this site last night and was so high a tired I misspelled it.
If the mods or admins would help me out, that'd be awesome. Or if you guys don't feel like it, I'll just, I dunno, kill my self or something. I mean... Kill my account or something. (And make a new one.)
Thanks.
