like i've said before, buy a book.... because all the problems you started with would not have been there

The only thing I can think of is that either it is way too hot, or way too cold, or the soil is compacted too much for good root development. Like DirtyLinus said, it is always better to have a few books and have the knowledge before you start. Having a good setup and knowing what you are doing from the begining will prevent 90% of the problems that most people post about on the forums.

start seedlings in a small pot, then gradually transplant into larger pots, this will encourage better root development. i say ur light is insufficient, and the temperature is not proper for growing. starting seedlings in a huge pot is not a good idea, it would be better to start off small. Also, get some fans to swade the little seedlings, this will make the main stem stronger. i suggest u get some bigger lights, along with proper ventilation, otherwise you wont get a satisfactory yield or quality.

But...if you decide upon transplanting, isn't there a risk of killing the young plant? What is the best way to aviod this? Do you just need to re-pot as you would any other plant?
Thanks ;-)

most that can happen is u shock the plant, which only takes a couple days to recover fully. just try not to tear the roots, and keep the soil moist.

It's a rugged plant just don't be too rough. Leave it 'til a day or two after watering, put your hand over the pot with the stem between your fingers, turn the plant over and tap the bottom of the pot, she'll pop right out.
peace
