It would be so cool if life was continuing on earth in 3 billion years to just go outside with a bowl and some snacks, sit back in a lawn chair, look up at the sky and watch the galaxies collide... I'd be so down for watching the end of the world.

According to simulations, it will be a huge issue. The supermassive black holes at the center of each galaxy will collide into a single super-supermassive black hole, and the solar system will probably either be sucked into the black hole with millions of other stars, or else it will be flung out of the galaxy. It all depends on what side of the galaxy we happen to be on when the collision occurs.
