This morning when i went to check my plants i noticed a little spider on my plant its was only a little baby spider so i left it on there should i remove it from the plant or let it grow up best mates with my plant? its a "whitetail" so i was thinking i could leave it on there so it can roam around and catch any bugs that might have a go at my herb.

opinions please

Are you sure it's a whitetail? they dont tend to live on plants that dont provide much cover for them so i very much doubt it is, has it got a web? whitetails dont spin webs.

But i see no reason why you shouldnt leave it there, it can only be good for the plant .

i no whitetails dont live on plants thats why i thought it was strange to find it on there, and nuh theres no web he's just roaming around the plant minding his own biz , i went to go see if it was still there before but he had gone then i went to have another look afew hours later and he was back, hopefully its not a vegiterian spider

Hmmm if it is a whitetail i would get rid of it as the chances are he will move from the plant to elsewhere in your house!
Intrestingly the venom of a whitetail spider is not actualy very dangerous to humans but it does provide an almost perfice breeding ground for bacteria so if you get bitten by a whitetail it's the bacteria that will kill you and not the spiders venom.

So don't go rolling around in the dirt lol.. I'm sure it's nothing modern science couldn't cure in a second. The real question is, are you willing to pay a $500 dollar hospital bill should you or someone in your home get fanged by the little fucker? I say kill the bastard next time he comes around... :thumbsup:

Catch and release is my policy. Empty him into the neighbors garden at night.. otherwise he'll probably become bird food.
