Homemade 1000w cool tube!

I'm looking into making one of these. The bake arounds are pyrex and made for high oven temps. But I can only find on ebay, I hate ebay( got screwed a few times). Mellow Man I see your fan is close to the light could it be backed off in line to bring the heat down at the fan. My lines would only be 4 or 5 feet long. Zandor how far away are you fans from the light and what kind. I have everything but the glass. If I keep this up I will have to run more underground electric to my shed, maybe 220 or 221 what ever it takes. LOL. No really I been running electric for 20 years.

I am using a 4" vortex blower to move the air in from the outside, through 2 cool tubes and back out the room right now. After this round I'm upgrading it to a 12" vortex and building a plum box to feed air to 4 or 5 sets of lights from one blower to 2 rooms. I would never think of growing with out air cooled hoods of some type anymore. Yes I have in the plast used 10,000w with out air cooled hoods but that was for a different grow style then I am using now. SOG requires air cooled hoods and there is no room for side light like I have used in the past. It would be nice but there is no room with this forest grow I have going.

Yes it could be further up the vent away from the heat source! if you wanted too! but my other answer is that there isn't any heat! more of a tropical breeze really maybe in the 90's for temp!...........the fan is regulated @ 155..

you could use this fan to bring fresh cool air to your grow as well! this fan is used for boosting furnace heat to the cold spots of the house which is hooked directly up to your duct work,and it is also used for the duct work in a AC unit for cooling down a overly warm room in the summer!........The fans that Zandor is talking about is defently a more powerfull fan all around! for removing heat and for bringing in fresh cool air!................I seen the vortex fans but I believe they will cost ya $160 bucks or so! but worth the money for sure!.................I was just going for the cheapest most economical cool tube set up you could make with all the supplys @ just about any shopping mall...............my setup is completely based on area shopping without having to send away for materials for the project.............Note:I seen the Vortex fans at homedepot and other building supply companys....good luck!
