    80's

Ok. So what was so great about the 80's? I was a small child in the 80's. But I remember some things about it. And I'm really into collecting stuff from the era. I love all of the brat pack movies. And I'm into the 80's music and clothing. Yeah I just came out of the closet with that one lol. But i'm not into the big hair. Anway anyone else find that they are particularily fond of the era?

    80's

The 80's...I miss so much from then. That's basically late childhood and junior high for me. Look at my avatar, I think she's a thirteenish girl in 1987 dancing to her favorite song at a dance at the YMCA. Notice the crop top...oh, the crop top...I rocked the hell out of crop tops. I had big hair, I admit it. The best is my 9th grade pic, I'm going to post it if I can find it. I was all about big hair and the Limited and I look totally pissed off at the world. The music...I loved the big hair bands. I met Bret Michaels! Aaaah, I've said too much. lol

I am not into big hair bands that much. I'm more into the electronic sounds of the 80's. Bands like A Ha and I really like The Smiths. I am into Blondie as well. She was great. I have noticed a lot of retro clothing that is comming out. I hope they never bring back the tight rolls or spandex. But I do like the retro look. The costume jewelry you can buy today is very retro. Lots of psychedelic colors. And they have the huge plastic bangle bracelets. And huge loop earrings that are different colors.

I love retro 80's new wave music. Maryjanemama, remember Missing Persons? I still spin that record, Walking in LA. lol I miss the boom in surfing and skating in the 80s. Building our own skateboards and bikes from crap parts that's we'd find in junkyards and on abandoned bikes. The 80's was my childhood. Early 80 punk and hardcore were the best!.

I wish I would have grown up in the 80's. The only good thing that came from the 90's was the grungE era. And slap bracelets. The 80's had ALF! And ET! I mean alf was the shit. "got cat?" LMAO. You had atari. It was the beginning of home computers in your living rooms. The big huge ones where the keyboard was attached to the monitor. No mouse and no number key pad to the right. The boom of arcade games such as pac man. Skateboarding took hold. I'm a big fan of roller skating. I never liked blading much. I'm not sure about nintendo. I think it came out in the 80's because I was very small when I first started playing it. But I can remember I loved to play skate or die lol. And look at the tony hawk games now and compare it to skate or die. OMG that's crazy.

Yeah, skateboarding! Sk8 or die, man! That is soooo funny. Remember the jams? Hobie and Ocean Pacific? Bugle Boys were cool and not available at Walmart, like now. REM was still considered alternative and Natalie Merchant was still a 10,000 Maniac. And the late 80's and Guns N Roses broke through and everyone loved them. Ooooooh, Duff Mc Kagen! And Motley when Vince was still thin...and Van Halen before Van Hagar...and Sebastian Bach! Hahahaha. Love letters in the sand, I'll remember you! Nancy this is such a good thread...I'll get stoned and post on here a lot as I remember more.

Yeah I remember everyone had super bright flourecent colors all the time. I remember the Ice cream man in the summer. Remember that Fat Frog ice cream bar!!! I remember when you could get 25cent ice cream. And when WWF came on Saturday morning and Hulk Hogan would wrestle John Smith, who the hell was John Smith??? I remember when you could go to the toy store and they had a gun section that looked like a real gun shop!!!

Yeah they had a rather nice selection of toy guns and grenedes. I remember buying hot wheels every time I went to wal mart. I had this little robot. I forgot his name. But there were cards you could slide into the front part of his body and it would ask you questions. And you could push one of the buttons on the side of him to answer. And he lit up and stuff. He was cool as shit. But I forgot his name. But my favorite toy was legos. Legos are awesome. I should buy some more. I could play with those for hours. Remember wrestling buddies? I had a hulk wrestling buddy lol. And I hate wrestling! But the buddies were cool. You could be whatever buddy you had and then your friend could be whatever buddy they had and you could square off and beat eachother up and throw eachother around. We always used a trampoline as our wrestling ring. lol.
