SOAD's first album liner notes suggest that they are stoners. Big time.

However, their latest CD would suggest that they obviously got OFF the drugs, because the album sucks horribly, and i never thought i would be calling them sell-outs, but they so fucking are. they used to be angry and good, now they're pussies and they suck.

"This cocaine makes me feel like I'm on this song"

I must admit, their newest CD is different and maybe a tad mellower than their last 2, but a band needs change sometimes, for the good or bad. Fortunatly, not everyone thinks their new CD sucks. Their last CD "Toxicity" was getting to be too mainstream, and this newest CD isn't being aired as much, which is nice because last thing I want is to go to a show and see a bunch of 14yr olds singing along to words they don't even understand. Their newest CD is like a big fuck you to Hollywood and mainstream music, so if anything, they stopped themselves from selling out.

A change in a band is good too though. You can't do the same shit over and over again without sounding stale over time. Change is good, and if you don't like it, too bad, because I do.

OK, while you do make a valid point (about bands needing to evolve)...(and the fact that everybody's musical taste is subjective), their new CD still sucks.

I've always wondered if they were stoners.
The way they think for themselves, voicing their opinons against the flow and those freaking goatees. Plus they are from cali.
So, are they stoners? Probably. But without the band saying that they smoke weed (unlikely, being signed to a major record label) it's difficult to know for sure.

I was watching Kornuece a while back, it was like a documentary of korn.
There was one part where Fieldy was rolling a fuck-load of weed with the lead singer of soad.
    They're stoners, no doubt.
