HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN USING A CHAIR?
I want to thank you for this thread. I'm not in a chair yet but have had to use them on occasion. I will eventually have one of my own and it does bother me at times. As my health has declined there have been some necessary accomadations I've had to make, (like a shower chair, and walker) that have really depressed me. It's like they're milestones on the way downhill, with the chair waiting at the bottom.
One of the great things has been coming here and chatting with all the people I've met and just having a nice time laughing and joking, as well as all that I've learned in the forums.
It's nice to have others that I can relate to in so many ways. :twocents: Kuu

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN USING A CHAIR?
Hey Kuulbns good to hear from you again,
My father walked with a leg brace since he was 6 years old (he's 58 now). When he broke his leg he became very ...frustrated...that he couldn't walk anymore...he had become disabled enough to be immobilized. He tried to regain the ability to walk.. but has never walked freely since. The chair however has become a good thing for him. Yes, there were changes..as there are with anything in life. Unfortunatly it's something we all have to face at some point. Decay of physical body inevitable but decay of the mind is preventable. Things aren't always as bad as they may seem, and if they are..find a way of making them good again. Always look to the people around you for guidance and comfort...we are after all, only human.
Lots of luck and plumes of smoke...as always Kuulbns.
Bob.

I appreciate the depresstion you are going through, but being that way will only make it that harder to accept.

I would get a chair and get comfortable using it before I had too.
Depresstion is a bitch and will destroy you...
After my stroke, it took me almost five years to even look at a wheelchair.
You hang tight, and before you let things happen, make them happen in your time
