Hey dude here's my advice. You did the right thing. Take a stand and hold it. If you would of cut and run or let this guy get the better of you then what would she have thought of you? Thats right "no balls", "weak", "cant defend me" etc.
So you see its catch 22 with women not only on this issue but alot of other issues as well. Now theres a girl on here that says talk to her about her feelings. Shit.
This is the differerence between men and women. Your not a woman. This is logical reaction with a man any guy would agree even the cops if they were in your shoes protecting their own girl. They probably didnt care that you disabled the guy and were probably more interested in your technique. What were you supposed to do talk to the attacker about his feelings before he gut knifed you or your girl? Please.
As for the moves. Perfect.

Master Lee said you dont know the extent of the intentions of your attacker, always listen to your intuition, when he initiates you immobilize as quickly as possible summonning the rage of a lion, but only as a last resort. AS YOU DID, other wise you could face a knife or other weapon because guys don't stop in a fight until one IS immobilized is that logical.
This is something you cant logically reason to women about and a girl crying is DISTRACTING and putting you and her in MORE danger by breaking your concentration. Women don't understand this focus men have and need to maintain in danger.
You need to act and act quickly and effectively. You did it perfect by hyperextending the elbow joint, the knee joints work good as well. If a guys got a knife its fair game as far as I am concerned and I will not hold back in what I know and I will bust his ear drums with a cup strike at the first chance I get after the limbs are taken out.
The attacker should learn his lesson in conduct in society as a result. A damaged tendon for a year is good reminder of where NOT to put your hands. Your girl doesnt apprieciate the fact that this guy could have raped and killed your girl if it wasn't you there at that time with her or maybe the next girl behind you coming up the sidewalk by herself a few minutes later. She didnt stop to think about that did she? You did society a favor as I see it that man had rape on his mind and more than likely murder as well, it happens all the time. Trust me I know firsthand.
A very good girl-friend I went to Elementary school, Junior high and High school with was murdered in L.A by a street guy. She went to L.A. from Seattle to start an acting carreer only one month out of Highschool. Only (ONE DAY) there walking down the wrong street and she was raped and murdered because she wouldnt let the street guy have her walkman. So he made it into a power issue and beat the crap out her very bad and raped her and left her for dead in a back alley. I wont get into how violent he left her body as its makes me sick. That still pisses me off today because she was the most sweetest, most innocent person you could know and grow up with through your childhood with and did not deserve that. She didnt get to experiece the things in life that the rest of us have. Like having a family and all those things. That was in 1984 and that scumbag shitmaggot is still sitting in San Quentin today as a result so tell that to your girl. She should be greatful that you were at her side. "You didnt have to hurt him so bad". Shit. Bravo dude.
There was an immediate need for self defense and to act on a split second. That guy could have pulled a knife in an instant and jabbed her or you and you could have been another statistic in tommorows newspaper just like my friend.
So dont let it get to you. I think women have a hard time coping with violence even neccesarry violence. She'll more than likely come around in time and realize what COULD have happened given a number of scenarios to imagine on her own and then become more apprieciative as to what you did as time goes on. Stay as much on the quiet side as possible. She'll realize in time and if she does'nt find a new girl.
