hello, this is my first grow from bagseed, i'm using at the moment a 30w compact fluourescent. Its a 5000k bulb that supposedly emits 150w of light. I started 3 of the seeds in the water bottles that i have in there, they have a bunch of holes poked in the bottom. the little plant was transplanted from another pot, so its growth slowed down a bit. one of my plants has grown big and fast, and my medium plants slowed down when i poured water in them and the roots shifted, one benefit of this was that the growth node split in both plants, as you can see, i'm using a screen, so to train my big plant, these babys are about a month and a few days. I painted the inside of the box with aluminized roof paint and i used aluminum ducting tape for the glass door.

They look good for only one small bulb. Is that where the bulb stays?
If so, you should get better results from lowering the light and adding a makeshift reflector (or more of those bulbs)

this project is still a work in progress, heres some more info: I started 4 of the seeds in the soilless mix some in the makeshift pots and 2 in another pot. I had the 4 makeshift pots just sitting in a three gallon bucket with just plain tap water, and the other 2 were in the soilless mix in a regular plant pot. i decided to get a little more serious with the grow so went down to local dollar store and get a storage tub, and i got the screen at the goodwill. I already had the stereo cabinet and i done some duct work on my house, so i had leftover tape, I purchased the aluminized paint at walmart. I got the light and air pump off of ebay. After i put the system together and transplanted the 2 potted plants, the seeds had taken off by now, i started them on superthrive. after 3 days i purchased some maxigrow and started them with some fresh superthrive water, with some weak nutes. I let one week go by, then i changed the water, I kept the same amount of superthrive and upped the nutes to about 1/4 strength. about week 3, i got a little lazy and just poured superthrive water and and some leftover nute water from the previous week. It seemed to slow down the progress a bit, but not enough, to ruin the project. oh, of the 6 seeds that were planted only 4 made it, 3 that were planted in the makeshift net pots and 1 from the quart plant pot. week four i changed the water, still sticking with the superthrive, and upping the nutes to 1/3 strength. I'm astounded and amazed at what i've managed to accomplish so far. I credit my success from reading everything i can off the net and being patient.

here are some new pics, i've upped the maxigro nutes to 1/2 strength, and i've added some supernova plant additive and i'm still using the superthrive as well. I'm going to start flowering the plants with high phosphorous bat guano and a 55w 2700k spiral top fluorescent. Oh, i've also tied the plants down and done some pruning, I accidently snapped the top off my big plant when i did this. so i soaked it in some superthrive and stuck it in another makeshift pot.

I put a piece of carpet in the front of the cab to help keep light in/out, plus i sprayed it with a pet stain deoderizer, its really helped with the smell.

here are some new pics, a few days ago i discovered the light had fallen on one of the plants, it completely took it out of the pot, the roots were ripped off the stalk, I just stuck it back in the pot and figured if i lived, fine, if it didnt, oh well. It seems to be bouncing back, so thats a good thing. The top that i had broken off another plant, seems to be doing well also. The plant that was previously the runt, has passed the others in height, of course it wasnt trained or tied like the others. I like the aluminized paint, it seems to be a good combination with the fluorescent light

mrabrego,
I'm in a hurry... but I'd like to tell you that I find your grow-log most interesting.
Keep it up dude!
BTW: Why did you remove the screen? No longer going to use it?
