A call to action...
If you support Pot Cafe's existing in Vancouver, please join us at the
Vancouver Provincial Courthouse this Wednesday November 2nd.
Carol Gwilt, who is the previous co-owner of Da' Kine, one of
Vancouver's first cannabis cafe's which existed on Commercial Drive for
approximately 9 glorious months, will be appearing in court on November 2nd to begin her preliminary hearing which will last for a total of 5 days. Carol is facing charges in relation to Da' Kine and she needs our support.
We need to gather as many people that we can to attend Carol's hearing
in order to show the authorities that the public supports Carol and the
existence of pot cafe's in Vancouver. Carol should not serve one day in
jail because Da Kine offered the Vancouver community a clean, safe
environment where they could purchase a variety of cannabis strains, cookies, hash, etc. rather than having to buy their medicine from a 'street dealer'. The public should be outraged by the city's decision to close down Da Kine' and their attempt to imprison Carol. This is not acceptable and in order for us to make a difference we need to spread the word to as many people as possible about Carol's preliminary hearing in order to pack the courtroom and place pressure on the authorities to drop Carol's charges.
If you would like to attend any portion of Carol's hearing please be
respectful and peaceful. We are also asking people to participate by
holding signs outside the courtroom for the media, public and court officials
to view. If you would like to take part in our sign holding demonstration,
please make a sign supporting Da Kine, Carol Gwilt, or Pot Cafe's and
bring it to the courthouse. It is especially important to bring signs on the
first and the last day of her hearing when the media is present.
Carol Gwilt will be appearing at the Vancouver Provincial Courthouse
located on Main and Cordova in downtown Vancouver. Her preliminary hearing is from 9:30am - 4:30pm each day and will take place on November 2nd, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th and probably more after the tenth but that is yet to be determined.
Please spread the word far & wide and if you are in the Vancouver area
and can make it on any of those days between 9:30 and 4:30 please come and show your support.
Thank you!
Love & freedom,
Renee Boje

A call to action...
If that were to pass, I definitely think tourism from the U.S. would increase drastically. I'm not sure if BC would consider that a good thing or not. There would be huge amounts of cash being spent there, but lots of burnouts would be wanting to stay forever. Kind of a double edged sword.
Onward!
