you can take a seedling and place it under 12/12 anytime you want...I would wait a week at least...goodluck...remember in equatorial regions there is no 18/6...My current grow (I'm mixing 1st week flower nutes in a few minutes) I started at 17/9 progressively dropping light times by an hour every 2 weeks. Now I'm at 13/11 this week in transition (no nutes)...Sorry, I just wanted to let you know that 18/6 and 12/12 are only what someone decided; would emulate a day/season of sunshine.

throughtout grow...so basically, you can do with the lights, what you want; As long as your consistent...hope this shines some light lol... on the subject
