Timers?

Hi,

What sort of timers do you all use. Can use just use common house ones, or do you use surge protectors etc. My fluros keep going pop when my timer sometimes comes on. Is this common?

...I use the exterior (black box) style w/cover, grounded 3 prong...I'll take a pic...this timer is great/inexpensive! about 10 bucks :smokin: I have also used $5 timers like this timex, with no problem, except that you can unplug it, if your not careful. anyway, it turns out that this outdoor timer is intermatic :thumbsup: I think I bought it at Home Depot. By the way, what would be the name of your do-it-yourself superstore?
