    Marijuana: THC Counters Cancer-Causing Chemicals?

That study is a good bit of info to have when you get into a discussion with someone who still believes that one joint is as harmfull as a whole pack of cigs. I smoke kind bud and not much of it. It only takes like one tiny pinner to get me stoned. Though that's not to say I would be against a nice hookah party now and then. I figure I smoke about 1\30 mabey 1\50 of what a normal cigarrette smoker inakes on a daily basis.

A new report says that Marijuana is not a cancer risk since the THC acts to counter the cancer-causing chemicals produced by it's smoke unlike tobacco where the nicotine does the opposite. The report is by Dr Robert Melamede of the Univ. of Colorado. "THC turns down the carcinogenic potential," he said stating that in studies on mice THC seems to block the enzyme that turns chemicals in smoke to their cancer promoting form. Also cannabinoids help to reduce immune regulated responses to Rating: 5

??Cigarette companies will have you believing
anything just as long as you continue to buy their products. The
fact is, although insoluble tars are a contributing factor to the
lung cancer danger present in today's cigarettes, the real danger
is radioactivity. According to U.S. Surgeon General C. Everette
Koop (on national television, 1990) radioactivity, not tar,
accounts for at least 90% of all smoking related lung cancer??..?
I just read one of the best articles in lifetime !! :stoned:
