Slut
Slut is a slang term used to indicate a person who has frequent sexual relationships with different people, especially short-term affairs. Coming from the late Middle English slutte (meaning "mud") the term is usually applied to women (and can be compared to the more negative slag), but is often used in the gay male and bisexual communities about people who are promiscuous in that they have, or are reputed to have, many sexual partners, or whose sexuality is voracious, indiscriminate, and shameful.
This term is often regarded as offensive, as in throwing mud, when used by others, but, in the gay and bisexual communities, may be used by the person concerned as an expression of pride in their status, or as an expression of enviousness in their "success rate" by others.
With polyamorous and non-monogamous people, in usage taken from the book The Ethical Slut, the term has been reclaimed as an expression of choice to openly have multiple partners, and revel in that choice: "A slut is a person of any gender who has the courage to lead life according to the radical proposition that sex is nice and pleasure is good for you."
In historical usage of English, however, the term merely meant someone untidy, and could apply to both males and females.
* The term 'slut' is often used simply to describe any and all women. In "Gangsta Rap" your 'slut' could easily be your girlfriend.
* In Internet Porn circles, 'slut' denotes basically any woman, all of femininity.

Quesadilla
A quesadilla is a tortilla folded over a cheese (often a Mexican-style soft farmer's cheese such as Queso Fresco), cooked meat and/or bean filling, which is then fried, deep fried or toasted using a broiler, griddle, or open fire, and sometimes spiced with salsa. The term can also be used for a pair of tortillas, with the cheese and other fillings between them, similarly cooked. Quesadillas are sometimes cut into strips before being served as an appetizer to a meal of Mexican food.
In areas near Mexico City, cheese can be, and usually is, omitted, its place being taken by any of a variety of foods.
The Quesadilla vs. The Taco
The differences between a taco and a quesadilla consist of shape, kinds of filling and the order of filling and cooking.
A taco is rolled around the filling, while a quesadilla is flat, sandwiching its filling.
Quesadilla fillings are usually based on cheese (hence its name, from the Spanish queso), and are generally of a pasty consistency and considered appetizers. Taco fillings are usually based on meat or animal products, with a chunky consistency, and considered an entree.
Quesadillas are filled and cooked afterwards, tacos are a still-pliable tortilla wrapped around its filling. The usual case where tacos are cooked after filling is when making a flauta (Spanish for "flute," because of its shape). See taco for an explanation of taco shells.
Quesadillas are cut into wedges or strips in restaurants outside of Mexico, where they are often served as an appetizer. In authentic Mexican restaurants, and in people's homes, quesadillas are generally eaten whole, and two to four of these often constitute a light meal. Another variation found outside of Mexico is a "whole" quesadilla - made of two tortillas sandwiched with the filling between rather than one folded over.

Taco Bell
Taco Bell is a fast-food restaurant chain which is a division of Yum! Brands, Inc. It originated as a hot dog stand founded by Glen Bell in 1946. After experimenting with alternative food items, he opened three Taco-Tia stands between 1954 and 1955. He then sold the businesses to his partners and opened the first Taco Bell in 1962. In 1978, Bell sold the chain to Pepsi. The chain was spun off along with Pepsi's other restaurant holdings in 1997.
Taco Bell serves items based on Mexican cuisine, as adapted to the needs of the fast-food industry. Taco Bell's cuisine is Mexican-inspired American food, or Tex-Mex cuisine.
It is headquartered in Irvine, California.
On April 1, 1996, Taco Bell took out a full-page advertisement in The New York Times announcing that they had purchased the Liberty Bell to "reduce the country's debt" and renamed it to "the Taco Liberty Bell." Thousands of people who did not immediately get the April Fool's Day hoax protested.
In 1998, it introduced the Taco Bell chihuahua, who spoke the line in commercials for their wildly popular "Yo quiero Taco Bell" campaign. In the Spanish language, yo quiero means I want (or love).
However, recently in the 21st Century, Taco Bell has gone away from the chihuahua and instead has promoted its value menu through "I'm Full!!" commercials.
Taco Bell encourages its diners to "think outside the bun", a reference to its bypassing the efforts and popularity wars of such hamburger-selling fast food chains as McDonald's and Burger King through the tortilla instead of the bun.
Recently, the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (based in Immokalee, Florida) has made allegations that Taco Bell is complicit in unfair labor practices of Florida tomato growers. The CIW organized a boycott of Taco Bell's products. These issues were resolved on March 9, 2005, when Taco Bell agreed to the farmers' demand that the company pay a penny-per-pound surcharge for tomatoes.
Smaller Taco Bell Express outlets, offering a reduced version of the menu, appear in malls, airport terminals, department stores, hotels, cafeterias, gas stations, and other places.
According to the Taco Bell website, there are currently over 6,500 Taco Bell franchises operating in the United States. Over 280 are in operation overseas.
Taco Bells have been known to share retail space with other Yum! Brands, Inc. such as KFC.
Miscellaneous
The Hollywood futurist movie Demolition Man has several references to Taco Bell as being the only restaurant (and a high-class one, at that) in the future. However, in the German-language dub of the movie, all references to Taco Bell were changed to references to "Pizza Hut"; scenes displaying the Taco Bell logo or signs were either replaced or digitally edited to show a Pizza Hut logo instead. The most likely reason for this change is a cultural difference; in German-speaking countries, Taco Bell is hardly well-known or established, meaning that few viewers would understand the joke about Taco Bell, a modern-day fast-food chain, becoming the high-class exclusive restaurant of the future. For the purposes of the movie's joke, Pizza Hut was apparently chosen as a more representative well-known fast-food chain for the target demographic. In early 1999, Taco Bell transformed the familiar rainbow logo, in favor of a simpler pink/purple combo logo.

Smoking pipe
This article describes a pipe used for smoking. For other uses of the term, see pipe.
A smoking pipe is a device used for smoking combustible substances such as tobacco. The smoking pipe typically consists of a small chamber (the bowl) for the combustion of the substance to be smoked and a thin stem (shank) that ends in a mouthpiece (also called a bit).
Pipes are made from a variety of materials, the most common being (in order of use): briar, corncob, meerschaum, African block meerschaum, clay, cherry, wood, glass, gourd, and various other materials, such as morta. Glass pipes in particular have become an art form.
Tobaccos used for smoking pipes are often carefully treated and blended to achieve flavour nuances not available in other tobacco products. Many of these are blends using staple ingredients of variously cured Burley and Virginia tobaccos which are enhanced by spice tobaccos, among them many Oriental or Balkan varietals, Latakia (a fire-cured spice tobacco of Cypriot or Syrian origin), Perique (uniquely grown in St. James Parish, Louisiana) or blends of Virginia and Burley tobaccos of African, Indian, or South American origins. Traditionally, many U.S. blends are made of American Burley flavoured with aromatic ingredients to produce "sweeter" smokes whereas "English"-style blends are based on natural Virginia tobaccos enhanced only by Oriental varietals. There is a growing tendency towards "natural" tobaccos which derive their aromas from artful blending with selected spice tobaccos only and careful, often historic, curing processes. Pipes can range from the very simple machine-made briar pipe to highly-prized handmade and artful implements by renowned pipemakers which are priced as very expensive collector's items.
Materials and Construction
The material and shape of a pipe has a profound influence upon the aesthetic of a smoke.
Briar
The majority of pipes sold today, whether hand made or machine made, are fashioned from briar. Briar is cut from the root burl of the Tree heath (Erica arborea), which is native to the rocky and sandy soils of the Mediterranean region. While briar is the most widely used -- and perhaps best known -- pipe making material, pipes of other woods and other materials are also available.
Meerschaum
Meerschaum (hydrated magnesium silicate), a mineral found in small shallow deposits mainly around the city of Eskesehir in central Turkey, is prized for its plasticity which allows it to be carved into many decorative and figural shapes. It has been used since the 17th century and, with clay pipes, represented the most common medium for pipes before the introduction of briar as the material of choice in the 19th century. The word "meerschaum" means "sea foam" in German, alluding to its natural white color. However, meerschaum is a very porous mineral that absorbs elements of the tobacco during the smoking process, and gradually changes color to a golden brown. Old, well-smoked meerschaum pipes are prized for their distinctive coloring.
Clay
Clay in this case is almost always a very fine white clay. Low-quality "clay" pipes are actually made from porcelain slip poured into a mold. These are porous, of very low quality, and impart unwanted flavors to a smoke. Top-notch clays, on the other hand are made in a labor-intensive process that requires beating all air out of the clay, hand-rolling each pipe before molding it, piercing with a fine wire, and careful firing. Traditionally, clay pipes are un-glazed. Clays burn "hot" in comparison to other types of pipes, so they are often difficult for most pipe-smokers to use. Their proponents claim that, unlike other materials, a well-made clay pipe gives a "pure" smoke, with no flavor addition from the pipe bowl.
Calabash
Calabash gourds (usually with meerschaum or porcelain bowls set inside them) have long made prized pipes, but they are labour-intensive and nowadays quite expensive.
The construction of a Calabash pipe generally consists of a downward curve that ends with an upcurve where the tobacco is held. This low center of gravity allows for the user to easily hold the pipe by the mouth alone, leaving his hands free. This advantage was often used by actors who wanted to depict their character smoking while permitting them to do other business simultaneously. That is why the character Sherlock Holmes, who never used this kind of pipe in the stories, is stereotypically depicted as favoring it because early dramatic productions, especially those starring William Gillette made this artistic decision.
Corncob
On the other end of the scale, "corncob" pipes made from maize cobs are cheap and effective, even if some regard them as inelegant. The cobs are first dried for two years. Then they are hollowed out to make a bowl shape. The bowls are dipped in a plaster-based mixture and varnished or laquered on the outside. Shanks made from Pine wood are then inserted into the bowls. The first and largest manufacturer of corncob pipes is Missouri Meerschaum, located in Washington, Missouri in the USA http://www.corncobpipe.com/. Missouri Meerschaum has produced the pipes since 1869. General Douglas MacArthur was perhaps the most famous smoker of this type of pipe, along with the cartoon character Popeye.
Corncob pipes remain popular today because they are inexpensive and require no "break-in" period like briar pipes. For these two reasons, corncob pipes are often recommended as a "Beginners pipe." But, their enjoyment is by no means limited to beginners. Corncob pipes are equally valued by both learners, and experienced smokers who simply desire a cool, clean smoke.
Glass
Hand-blown glass pipes are one of the most common kinds of hand-blown glass today. They can be quite elaborate. One reason for their appeal is that since the glass is completely inert, it does not affect the flavor of the smoke. The glass is normally colored but not opaque, and as the pipe is used, the colors darken and become richer. They tend to have a small hole on the side which can be covered by a finger for a stronger smoke, or uncovered to allow a small amount of air to mix with the smoke for cooling. Due to their lack of porousity and tendency to retain heat, glass pipes are usually used to smoke substances other than tobacco.
Apple
Fruits such as apples have been used as material for an expedient pipe.
Health concerns for tobacco smokers
While tobacco smoke from pipes contains less of the carcinogenic substances found in cigarette smoke, it is nonetheless a health hazard, leading more often to cancers of the mouth and throat rather than the lungs. Addiction to nicotine is rarely involved unless the smoke is inhaled at a consumption rate comparable to heavy cigarette smoking. A 1964 study once showed that pipe smokers on average lived marginally longer than the general population, but that study failed to control for social factors and did not include an adequate representation of pipe smokers to be considered sound. Pipe smokers are inclined to attribute this to the calming, contemplative mindset promoted by the ritualistic character of pipe use.
A recent American Cancer Society study finds pipe smoking confers a significantly lower risk of cancer and other similar disease as compared to cigarette smoking, though the risks are still considerably higher than for non-smokers.
