How do ppl have accents?

People that first populated those towns would have come from another country/place that used that accent and over the years it has just evolved and changed a little, like the words and things they used to use in Shakesperean times that we neglect in today's world

You make me think to hard in the mornin. Like there wasnt enough for me to try and figure out already. Now my heads spinnin and im tryin to think of why when I go down south my southern draw is alot more apparent then when im back in Michigan. I mean, I always have it alil bit but, nothing like when I get around my family or when I go down south. Funny thing is I dont even realize Im speakin any different til someone says something. oh well just another one of lifes mysteries like. what came first the chicken or the egg??? or how far can a giant can really toss a midget?? The world my never know!

Also a giant can throw a midget between 300-400 yards i do believe, IIRC

I think its probably because people are generally lazy and don't pronounce words as they're intended to be spoken, over time others pick up on these words and imitate how they're spoken.

Just like groups of friends tend to use the same sayings and if you hang around with certain people you tend to pick up similar facial expressions, people in general like to copy weither consciouslly or not.
