HELP ME PLEASE!!!!

I am growing a couple of plants and i dont know what to do about one of them its about 4 ft tall and i dont want it to get any bigger they tell me i should top it but i dont have a clue about how to do that can anyone give me a good detailed discription about how to do please help me because their are little sprouts (buds) and i want to know how i can help them grow too i know its stupid but im not very experienced its my first grow

look at the top of the plant you see what looks like a liite bud pluck it then it will fork out you can top again later to

i don't know how much you will get but it bushes the plant and you have a fork on top of the plant i've seen them so heavy with bud i've to make long forks to hold them up i think you get more bud by topping i've topped some of mine twice this year to see what happens
