Dude, I always corner the bowl. It's just rude not to, IMO. I want everyone to have at least one hit of delicious green per bowl. Even when I'm smoking by myself, I still corner the bowl. It's just habit.

The trick with a bong is to always leave room to clear the chamber. This also means that, for a large chamber bong, you get a lot of air into your lungs before you start inhaling smoke. Exhale all of that air once you've filled the chamber, and that way you start inhaling smoke from the get-go. Furthermore, leave room in your lungs to clear the chamber. Feeling that fat packet of smoke rush into your lungs is, in my opinion, the best part about bongs.

Also, dissolving a breathmint in your bongwater or adding a few drops of peppermint extract is fun, as is ice.

One thing a lot of people don't think of is adding boiling water. I know it sounds weird, but when you're inhaling smoke and steam in the same hit, it's like a tropical rainstorm in your lungs!
