Planting into 1 gallon pots

Would starting seeds out in 1 gallon pots then transplanting to 3 gallons at the end of veg stage be alright?

There are lots of opinion's out there, but that sounds like a good plan to me. I use 3 gallon pots after seedling stage...If I were doing a soil grow, that is most likely what I would plant in...goodluck
