My plea to Gov. Schwarzenegger
I am a "215er", I use medical cannabis for relief from spasms and muscle tightness caused by Parkinson's disease. I was stopped at a U.S. Border checkpoint near San Diego (inside the United States), my medicine seized and then I was cited by the CHP, and now I have been having a difficult time getting the case taken care of.
So I wrote to Governor Schwarzenegger of California, and I hope he will chance to actually read it and help one of his constituents. He strikes me as the type of man who just might do something good.

Dear sir,
Now that you are Governor, I have hope that my families future will unfold here in California, with prosperity and grace.
In 2000, I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. I am a medical cannabis patient, and have been so in good standing for four years. In early March, I was cited for possession of cannabis, even though I had all necessary documents to demonstrate my right under the law voted in through Prop. 215. The San Diego court has refused my repeated written requests to drop the charges and dismiss the case. I am now asking for your help.
As an American, I have a guarantee to the pursuit of happiness. I also have a guarantee against undue repression. No matter what state the Union is in, or what ever activity the Union happens to be undertaking at any given moment, does not alter, modify, or lessen these guarantees. As a Quaker, my personal thought is that these guarantees are the closest representation of a holy covenant that a man can author. Words fail in attempts to describe their value to me.
For common purposes, I will define "happiness" a minimal state of physical health, an ability to participate in the open market economic system as either consumer, proprietor or both, and the freedom to engage in activities, discussions, and expressions that I favor, so long as I am peaceable and of a moral persuasion that demonstrates compassion for others and a willingness to consider the welfare of others alongside my own, without undue interference or interruption.
I will define "undue repression" as that which obstructs my pursuit of my offered definition of happiness and that which proceeds with actions that unduly interfere or cause interruption in my pursuit of happiness. I must also concede that I have the same obligation as the Union to remain true to my own principles and pursuits regardless of whatever activity or condition I may be in at any given moment.
I find my current state to be below the minimal state of health that I require to pursue happiness. I have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. I have also found an easy to manifest and inexpensive to purchase catalyst that compliments and improves my state while maintaining a peaceable manner and a demonstrated moral persuasion. It is my belief that have a legitimate use of cannabis as a medicine for treatment of Parkinson's, and I should not be punished for it.
Thank you sir, I appreciate your efforts.
Your servant in the Lord,
Douglas Shrock

I guess my next option will be to go to the press about it, and try to get a human interest story about my situation.
