Good luck trying to rally all the peaceful potheads into your terrorist organization.

We shouldn't be trying to bring violence to the world. Let's bring ganja instead.

    Okay now...End of the World..?

It's not hurricanes or dead catholics we should be worrying about, and it's not the earth reversing it's spin or shifting it's axis either...

Everything we've built in society depends on a CHEAP source of energy. Everything created now uses oil. It doesn't matter what it is, you can't mass produce much of anything (or travel) without oil. Consumerism has gotten so bad now that the media, as well as our great political leaders, all overlook the fact that OIL is running OUT and has been for some time. They are already pumping water into some of the major wells in Iraq to get the excess remnants out. Granted, there are still huge oil wells in Alberta...

Despite that, though, it has been predicted that within the next ten years, we will see a worldwide oil shortage. It makes sense. Since before I was born, gas prices have been going up. How they are now is a perfect example of the unrest in the oil world. By Christmas this year they are going to be even higher, and by the end of next year... Well, you get the idea.

What this means, though, is that the modern working class, or middle class, will be completely eliminated. Only the excessively rich are going to be able to afford the fossil fuels that our society has made a necessity. Furthermore, it means the people are going to be forced to function as parts of communities or localities... Importing your pizza pops won't be possible anymore, agriculture is, once again, going to be the most important part of our survival (Which is a whole other story considering the condition of most of the soil nowadays).

This all could have been avoided if the oil companies hadn't tyranted the energy scene. I know a man who made a carbeurator for his car that gave him 100 miles to the gallon... A HUNDRED MILES TO THE GALLON

SHELL OIL bought it for a few thousand and it was never heard of again.

If Volkswagen had come out with their new hydrogen combustion engine 10 years ago, and plans were made to actually implement the energy source, We could have avoided this disaster.

But there is nothing at this stage in the game that we can do to stop this from happening unless everyone starts seeing it for what it is. And I guarantee you the oil and car companies, media, and politicians won't.

    Anyway that's my story..

Yeah, peak oil is going to fuck things up for sure. It won't be the end of the world, it won't even be the end of civilization, but it will change society drastically, marking the end of the age of hyperconsumption. Our lifestyles simply aren't sustainable, and the proof will be delivered in the coming decades.

man oil is a big part of all the pollution goin in the world, but pollution may not be only the cause of our extinction. first, yes pollution is a major cause of hurricanes and all, which multiplies exponentially since few decades, but we have our ressources too. more than hundreds of millions of ppl each year die coz they have no water.

what about wood? we destruct forests everyday. we kill like 100 species everyday (not sure bout that number). anyway, soon we will be too much, too much pollution, too much ppl, too much war, viruses, hurricanes, lack of water, space, more poverty everywhere, etc, etc

those are all causes of our problems

the system is just not working

everybody is too indivudualist, they refuse to see the truth: capitalist is NOT working. yes it SEEMS to work for NOW, but we dont consider all the repercussions on the next generation of all our consuming madness.

all this is bullshit. i hate our system, i hate how we kill and exploit ppl, i hate how world lost all his spirituality, all his meaning to life, how ppl became so blinded by this system brainwashing everyone. i hate how everyone think happiness is found around them.

Aren't you tired to die?-Claude Péloquin
