New Veg Room ~Need Help~

Hello Everyone,

Ive just decided to make a veg room for a mother plant, that i can later get clones off of. I have already worked out ventilation and have lined all the walls with mylar (Have pics but im not sure how to post them). I bought a floro fixture, and a 48 in. 40w phillips Plant & Aquarium Striplight (I dont think this will work). The bulb produces 1600 lumens and im sure that number will go up a bit with all the mylar. My question is, Is this light a good choice for vegging or should i figure something else out. Remember i am a newb so please stick with me.

Wondering the same but differant light set-up
At homedespot you can pick up 4' shop light with 2 T8/34 6500Kelvin lamps producing about 2000 lumens each, for about 15 bucks (perfect daylight balance). Figure 2 setups light this on each side of her, so that would be about 8000 lumens on 1 plant... wonder if this would work too.
