Depends of if you are running a sealed room or not. With a carbon scrubber you can do either one. You can vent to the outside or you can return the scrubbed air back into the room. You also can use 2 motorized air dampers so you can either vent to the outside or return the air back into your room and still use the same scrubber to do both.

You can have flexibility to match air flow with how you are growing and if you are using CO² or not and need to vent to the outside.
