Nick Berg? Saw it. Screams kinda made me wanna vomit. God, the screams...

Oh and the decapitation? Violent... but that's not the thing. It's the screaming.

I don't see how it isn't. They are both death, they are both gore, they are both brutality. The only difference is that one is real, the other isn't. Same things on the screen, right? Ever seen Cannibal Holocaust?

Well, the reasons aren't very obvious to me, as I disagree.

Is this a question of morals? Regardless of whether or not this kid has a screw loose, an affinity for violence is NOT necessarily an indicator of low or questionable values. Is this a question of this individual's sanity? You know how many people have said the same thing about marijuana? It makes you crazy! Only a... mentally subnormal person would use it! This is the same kind of thing you see on the news about people raising and raising the age prerequisite for playing a violent video game.

I'm not saying he isn't a nutcase, but I *am* saying that we shouldn't jump to conclusions based solely on the fact that the kid enjoys a violent clip.

That's the worst advice i've ever heard... Hold a knife to his throat while he's sleeping? Are you fucking retarted? All that's going to do is make him call the cops and you get a ticket for attempted battery and assault or some dumb shit like that... the scaring him idea... not such a bad idea. Just don't have yourself hold a fucking knife to his throat...

My Advice: Let him know how you feel... if he still brings that shit around you, stop hanging out with him. Simple as that.

Yeah that would disturb me too I imagine, but its his choice. I'd be real pissed about him watching it around me though.

well thanks guys, i did sleep btw.

I enjoy horror movies, Because we like to feel a scare, or we like to laugh at how ridiculous it is. I dont find either of these reasons in watchin this guy getting his neck slowly sawed through, Its not funny. Its not scary. Its a feeling beyond. and personally it sticks with me past any horror movie.

Its true. Its the screaming. And how eventually the more blood bubbles out the more blurred the screaming becomes until its over.

    lateralus,

You say the reasons for my disagreeing with the decapitation of man, the recording of it, and then the free distribution of the video aren't obvious? You mean you don't see why I think it's wrong for anyone and everyone to have access to something like that?

It's not a case of morals. Morally I feel it is wrong, but that's why I personally don't watch it.

It's not a case of sanity, either. I do strongly feel that for a person to take any kind of pleasure from seeing a man get his head hacked off then they must have something wrong with them. I do genuinely believe that. There is no normal reason for a person to want to watch that over and over, to enjoy watching that over and over. How can you defend that? How can you honestly say that is normal behaviour? It is just plain wrong.

Horror movies are a completely different matter. You said that "The only difference is that one is real, the other isn't.". I agree. There is a huge difference between wanting to be frightened by watching a movie. It is enjoyable simply as a social occasion, if not as anything else. So many people can watch horror movies because we know it's not real. (i'm talking about Hollywood horrors here, you know the kind..) Again there isa huge difference between being frightened by what we know to be fictional events and getting pleasure from watching a man having his head hacked off.

I haven't seen Cannibal Holocaust, and I don't plan to. Horror movies aren't my thing, personally.
