Course it would, people in the trade would have jobs that would incur taxes plus government taxes on dope so of course woul generate money plus all the money saved not being wasted on busting non violent potheads

It would benefit the economy but not via sales and taxes. If it were truly legal , there would be no real need to buy it. Everyone would grow their own or know someone who does and could access it. There would be no street trade and no need for retail or pharmacy sales.
The economic spinoffs would come when the funds currently allocated to the detection, prosecution and imprisonment of 'marijuana criminals' would be freed up to be better spent elsewhere. Thats a hell of a lot of money folks. Then factor in how much of the potential workforce is wasting their time in jails or unable to find work due to their criminal record for pot....get all those people out there working and youve got a boom. Replace the fathers of families who were forced onto the social welfare system when they were busted and sent to jail for simple marijuana violations, unable to provide for their families. Put the fathers back in their families and a positive social and economic change will be realised. Free up the jails for real criminals and free up the resources to find them and prosecute them and our society will function better.
If marijuana was availlable freely for medical uses many people would lose their dependance to inferior pharmaceuticals and the burden on the medical, insurance, and their pocketbooks would be lessened. The drug companies could focus more resources on drugs for aids, cnacer, etc...
More people smoking pot would mean less people drinking alcohol. So, reduce the annual drain of resources for treatment, medical care, traffic accidents, social dispute etc...
the list goes on and on and on
SO many benefits would be realised that it is just plain stupid not to legalise it...especially with the facts now outshining the propaganda and disinformation.

Every time I think about it, it just makes me so angry that something so beneficial and enjoyable was made illegal within the last century!Relegalise weed!Let adults have the freedom to make a decision!

resently, in some scandinavian country, they legalized EVERYTHING and the only drug that went up in use percentage was heroin...
i think they shouldnt make it legal...they should decriminalize it...if it were legal, they would tax the hell out of it...or try to anyway...
