How do you break up Hash?

I got a 20 back FINGER of some hash tonight. It's solid and smelling very good. The guy told me to light it and just scrape it off.

stick it in a coffee grinder man. you can burn it a bit to soften but the smoke that comes off it goes to waste. if you just grind it fresh you get more goodness!!

It depends. Great hash you really shouldn't have to burn, but regular hash you just burn a tiny part (if it's cube or rectangular shaped then just one corner) for a second or two, and then using the thumb and index finger of one hand you just kinda break it off and crumble it into your joint or bowl or whatever. You want it to be as much like dust as possible so that when you smoke it more surface area is exposed to the flame.

The only problem is that this wastes sooo much 'cause you're burning it before you even smoke it, so i'd recommend just getting a grinder that can grind hash. Have a look at the grinders at EveryoneDoesIT.com.

I remember seeing a hash grater in a head shop, it was in a fake rizla packet and you just grated little slivers off. Other option is what my friend does and heat a scissor blade and slice little bits off, hash should either be smoked n a joint or in a bong, where u put a lil bit of tobbacco in first then pack your hash on top

when i have solid i used to always burn it in, but then this dude told me to use a cheese grater (smellest holes) and it works fuckin great!
the hash ens up almost like a powder, its perfect for doobys cuz it burns fine and theres no bombers!

yea highjunx cheeze graters work good espcially the ones where u put the hash inside it and turn a handle and it ginds it soo fine... yumm
