Hello, since the beginning of July I've been working my own indoor garden. I'm currently on my second grow, the first one was just one plant that turned out to be male. My second grow is currently in progress with 8 plants breaking ground from seed. My lighting is 2/3rd's better this time but still nothing to brag about and I have my closet papered with the tin foil dull side out rather then the brown paneling. Not the best setup, but much better then the first and I already have a number of changes in mind for the third thanks to many of the posters on this forum.

For my third grow, I want to start with cuttings from the female plants I get from this grow. From my reading of past posts, I see that it is better to get your cuttings in the veg stage, but I wont know which are male and which are female until I set them into flower.

My questions are...

In order to get six female clones from this batch, how many cuttings should I take? I'm worried about some not making it so I suspect I should get more then the six that I want to use this time.

Should I take these cuttings as soon as I know which of the plants are female?

I will be reading more about getting clones, such as where to take the cuttings from and how to make the actual cuts. I believe I want to use a new razor blade and cut at an angle but that's all I "think" I know at this time. If anybody has any other advice they would like to offer, I'm all eyes
