Now as you surely know we have a huge deficit, now what has changed between now and then? Well lets see... we have a new president who first official move was to give the American people a kickback (I'm sorry I mean a refund) with money he didn't have. Then he set about trying to plunge us into conflict (give us back our plane or we'll... we'll... damn china has a big military, what's Iraq doing?), and as you obviously know that war eats up money. We have a republican congress (oh man I think I 'm about to diss some congressmen) who's plan to decrease the deficit is to cut government spending. Their plan is to cut welfare which would certainly help, but they don't want to cut all of the welfare, oh no, the only want to take it away from the poor citizens. What about the billions we spend on corporate welfare? We the taxpayer are paying to keep corporations afloat, poor GM can't sell enough of their crappy cars to break even, so they asked for a bailout. Now it seems to me (again I'm not the economics wiz here) that if your company's product can't hold it's own, then the company should go under. If this were a mom and pop establishment There wouldn't be a question about it, it would be no more. Now GM lays off employees every month, and yet we still pay for them to function. Where is that money going? Into the pockets of CEO who feel that even if they aren't running a booming company, they should still live like it. For some reason Congress has no problem with this but when a poor black family can't get by on their $5.75/hour (no one can live on that) that's too fucking bad they should have done better. Also, how the hell can you say that Bush's decisions don't affect minors? Who do you think the ridiculous No Child Left Behind Act is affecting? If bush's bullheaded diplomatic policies happen to encourage a terrorist to set of a bomb in a public place, will the minors not be blown up? If, let's say, a child's father goes halfway around the world to fight a war we were tricked into. Then happens to have his Blackhawk shot down by and RPG, but then survives the crash only to be shot in the face, that doesn't affect said child. Just because they canâ??t vote doesnâ??t make them any less important. You sir, are a fucking moron.Originally Posted by koshea
