astral projection
does anyone have any good tips or information on astral projection?? i recently got into meditation and the like and i would love to have a lucid dream, i was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to increase my chances or get to the point where i can when i want thanks

The only idea I have for you, is to try a squeeze your entire face into a point on the end of your nose.

I tried doing this many years ago, what I did was went to bed hungry, meditation exercise, and trying to will my self out of body, well what happened is my rooom-mate was making brownies, while sleepwalking I went into the kitchen grabbed the pan out of the oven and ate all the brownies and went back to bed.. not a very good experience.
Another successful attempt was while at the dentist office it was the sterotypical out of body experience, very cool experience.

A lucid dream is different then an out-of-body experience lucid dreams are merely becoming aware in the dream that you are dreaming.

Sleeping Direction
Sleeping in a certain direction will help your % of having a OOBE drastically I found that sleeping head East and legs West I get the most action out of, Many books and websites that I've read said Head north and legs South, Iâ??ve had XP having tried like this but Iâ??ve had much more XP with East and West, but use the one you feel most comfortable with.
My thoughts on the positioning is this: When your born you make connections with the parallels the way you slept as child, cause I do remember always sleeping in that direction so if anything if you can remember the direction you slept as a child try sleeping like that again.
Step 2:
Relaxation Steps
One thing to say if you are trying to find your direction of sleeping do this
step it will tell you or not that the direction is correct for you.
The way I sleep doesnâ??t have that much of an affect on if its going to work or not, so sleep how you normally sleep if no results come try sleeping flat on your back.
Once youâ??re in your position start relaxing your body, go from your toes to your face relaxing each and every muscle of your body no tense muscles should be left. It works best for me when I tense my muscles then relax to get them to the fullest relax state. After you feel relaxed now its time your brain to go at it. Clear your mind of nothing like your doing void meditation. Keep this going for awhile, and while you do this, feel your self getting heavy and almost like sinking into the bed.
Step 3:
Breathing
While still doing step 2, start with your breathing. I found that deep breaths work the best. Sometimes focusing on your breathing for a period of time helps clear your mind. But while you finish the steps keep doing deep and full breaths.
Step 4:
A minds state
Now how the OOBE works is quite simply to explain you got to be in-between awake and sleep. Just how do we get there? Now every thing that you read will help you get to this state just now you got to focus on pretty much nothing don't even pay attention to the discharges of color you see while you have your eyes closed.
Keep focus and do your relaxation and breathing and once the colors stop this is time for the next step.
Step 5:
Vibrations
I like Robert Monroeâ??s technique from his book Journeyâ??s of out the Body but I kind of messed with it a bit to help a little. Focus out a few feet from your head (this is with your eyes closed) and see neon blue like bars, make them shake then bring them into you keep trying this until results if this doesnâ??t work.
Try putting a fan or something that makes very little noise but will help you with bringing out the vibes. Although allot of people say not to have any noise I think there wrong if you have a fan it can produce a sound wave that can help you create the vibrations.
Now once you get the Vibrations for the first time you will freak out, no matter how you feel about this even if you know its coming it will freak you out, itâ??s natural. The thing is you will freak out because you will be paralyzed totally. That right there ends it for people and they go insane to return back.
Just remember no harm can be done to you NONE. This is the part you need to maybe work on to get use to.
Once you get these practice making the vibes stronger and run though your whole body.
Step 6:
How to get out
Well this is a hard part allot of practices is needed to get out. Some people will be lucky and be able to get out on a few tries but it took me awhile. I found the best way is the roll out technique. Best used when sleeping on your side, even then sleeping on your back you can still use this.
To do this just feel your self turning don't force it, just feel your self turning back on your stomach or side. If done correctly you will slip out of your body. Another way is the sink technique. Again you can do this on your side or flat, but I believe flat would work best.
Just feel your self sink into your bed and most of the time you will. Step 7:
Youâ??re out
its best to probably not wonder off. Work around your house first before leaving. Now one means of transportation is the minds will. You want to go to see a friend think of them and 90% of the time you will be taken there. Sometimes Iâ??ve been refused some how not to be able to go. But just remember after this point its up to you to where you go. You will not be harmed you canâ??t have your body taken away. You will be fine and it will affect you in a very good way you will see things no one ever has other then maybe a hand full of astral travels on earth.

Ow fuck that hurt. Anyways I just had to keep from sharing my thoughts. Anyway, if you can find a way to be completely relaxed and then imagine yourself rising up out of your body. If you fail at that you should go back even more basic and try to consciously control all of your dreams. I don't know how to do that, though.
