perhaps there is pollen, being produced by some plant,somewhere, where you can't see it maybe, and some of that pollen has ended up inside your house, either as dust in the wind, on some insects legs, or in your clothes... nature just seems to find a way.

I'm reasonably certain that fertilization has to occur in order for a seed to be formed.
